Privacy policy
Effective July 2026. We keep your pet's data private and use it only to make Beau more helpful for you. Here's how that works.
What we collect
- Pet profile. Name, species, breed, age, weight, and any photos you add.
- Health records. Conditions, medications, vaccinations, lab results, and notes you save in Records.
- Conversations. Messages you send to Beau, plus the responses, so you can revisit them later.
- Account info. Your email and authentication tokens. We do not store your password directly.
- Usage data. Which features and screens you use, how long you spend in them and in the app, plus error reports, to fix bugs and improve Beau. Never your message content or your pet's details. In the US this is linked to your account (turn it off anytime in Settings under Privacy); outside the US it is kept anonymous.
How we use it
- To answer your questions in a way that's tailored to your pet's species, breed, age, and history.
- To remember your pets and conversations across devices when you sign in.
- To send you reminders for medications and vet visits, only if you've enabled them.
- To debug crashes and improve Beau over time, using anonymized aggregates.
- If data sharing is on, we use de-identified copies of your chats (names and contact details removed) to review and improve Beau. You can turn this off anytime in Settings under Privacy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- We don't send your data to other companies to train their AI models.
- We don't share your information with advertisers.
Who else sees it
- AI providers. Your messages are sent to our AI partners to generate responses. They are processed under contracts that prohibit retention or training.
- Cloud hosting. Your data lives in encrypted storage with our infrastructure provider.
- Vets you choose to share with. If you generate a vet summary or share records, you control what is sent and to whom.
Your rights
- You can export everything Beau knows about your pets, at any time, from Settings → Records.
- You can delete your account and all associated data permanently from Settings → Records.
- If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA. Email beaupetapp@gmail.com to exercise them.
Children
Beau is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we update this policy in a meaningful way, we'll let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
